Lots of overlaps and couldn't change it. I just needed to vent my frustration. I am now able to mail my portfolio. The 5.0.0 version, which is the one on the DVD, there are several known bugs when it comes to exporting PDFs. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/330053

I also encountered similar problems with exporting PDF from very large documents with InDesign 5.0.x on all versions of Windows. If I have a line or the entire paragraph selected, I'm unable to make adjustments. After reading the comment from Andy Wagner, I realized two logos were ever-so-slightly overlapping. Why does 20 lines of text take up over 1 megabyte of space? 5. It's WAY too hard to remember to do a 'Save As...' its programmed into your head to just hit 'Apple-S' to save your work! More about the author My clients says it asks her to buy the full Professional version.
The type is distorting/corrupting in some places. Image quality is Maximum. Your fantastic idea of blogging this error is still saving someone's bacon, even more than two years later.

Firstly you should try loading a different InDesign file and try exporting it as a PDF. The tags that InDesign/Acrobat pass through successfully include [h1]-[h6] and [p] and a few others. Indesign will not export as a pdf if there is a link within the document to another pdf. INDESIGN WILL NOT EXPORT AS A PDF IF THERE IS A LINK WITHIN THE DOCUMENT TO ANOTHER PDF.
It also means that no one here is going to fix the software for you.
