Changing InDesign Options turn off the option "Optimize for Fast Web View" - Laura Hickle had the problem after upgrading from CS2 to CS3 but this option solved it for her

No one here is going to fix your bug. InDesign does not auto-recover “clean” file but rather the corrupted file. I suspect that there may be some process memory leak problem that you are encountering.
